With a beat that evokes the pulse of an animal on the loose, Bec Sandridge’s latest single ‘Animal’ is futuristic art pop with a punk mentality.
Recorded at Melbourne’s Aviary studios with producer Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy) ‘Animal’ mashes gritty guitars with hard hitting disco hats, showcasing Sandridge’s impressive range from gleaming techno-punk-pop to a near torch song.
‘Animal’ follows on from, ’I’ll Never Want A BF’ – Sandridge’s most unapologetic and meatiest work to date. Added to triple j rotation, the track nods somewhat to the eighties, with Sandridge’s theatrical vocals spilling over the top of fuzzed out guitars, a gritty synth bass and hard hitting disco hi- hats. Produced by Burke Reid (Courtney Barnett, The Drones) at Melbourne’s Soundpark studios and mixed by Sandridge’s previous collaborator Tony Buchen (The Preatures).
