Benefits of Rock Academy

We constantly see the ongoing benefits of being a part of the Rock Academy Tribe and playing music, both on your own and as part of a band. Here’s a reminder of a few of the very real outcomes and benefits of music. 

Playing music has many benefits for teenagers, including:

 

  • Improving cognitive skills: Playing music can improve memory, spatial-temporal skills, and language development. It can also help with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Enhancing creativity: Music encourages creativity and self-expression, which can help teenagers develop their own artistic style and identity.
  • Promoting teamwork and socialisation: Playing music in a group or band can help teenagers develop teamwork skills and socialise with others who have similar interests.
  • Reducing stress: Playing music can be a relaxing and therapeutic activity that can help teenagers cope with stress and emotions.
  • Boosting self-esteem and confidence: Learning to play an instrument or perform music can boost a teenager’s self-esteem and confidence, especially when they improve or achieve a goal.

Being a part of Rock Academy had a load of upside part from being fun, here are a few that spring to mind:

Rock Academy Australia

Rock Academy is a school holiday music initiative established in 2015. Currently staged in Melbourne and on the Mornington Peninsula, Rock Academy features established artists mentoring teenage musicians as they rehearse a cover song and write an original song to perform on a real rock stage.
