Code of Conduct

We’re all excited to be a part of the Rock Academy together, make some killer music and put on an incredible rock show! In order to make this a fun and comfortable place for everyone, we need to work together and follow a couple of rules and a few guidelines.

Let’s all do our part to create a positive, supportive and creative environment where we can grow as musicians and have a blast doing it. Sound good?

Here are the rules of Rock Academy that we ask everyone to embrace. They are:

• Don’t be an Idiot.

• Treat the rehearsal spaces and venues like it’s Grandma’s house (we suspect you may not be so careful at home)

• If you’re not sure how to act or react in a situation, refer to rule No 1, use your common sense and don’t be an idiot.

Let’s all do our part to make the Rock Academy a positive and supportive place to create and perform music together.

• Respect your fellow bandmates and the mentors at all times. This includes using appropriate language and behaviour and refraining from bullying or harassing others.

• Attend all rehearsals and performances on time and prepared, with all necessary equipment and materials.

• Be responsible for your own actions and choices, and be mindful of the impact they may have on others.

• Respect the equipment and facilities provided, and take care to use them responsibly and safely.

• Be proactive and take the initiative to  assist their fellow bandmates and the mentors, to be willing to pitch in and help out wherever needed. By working together and being supportive of one another, we will create a positive and collaborative environment where we all thrive.

• Communicate openly and honestly with your band mates and mentors at Rock Academy. This includes being open to constructive criticism and feedback.

• Support and encourage your fellow bandmates and the broader tribe, and work together cohesively to achieve the best possible outcomes for both recording and performing.

• Communicate openly and honestly with the mentors and bandmates, and seek help if you are having any difficulties or challenges.

• Use social media and other online platforms responsibly, and avoid posting inappropriate or offensive content relating to Rock Academy participants or mentors.

• Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated at Rock Academy. This includes physical, verbal, and online bullying. If you witness or experience bullying, please report it to a staff member or mentor immediately. We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all participants, and we encourage everyone to treat each other with kindness, respect, and consideration.

• Participants in the Rock Academy are expected to abstain from the use of alcohol and drugs at all events, including rehearsals, performances, and any social gatherings related to the program. Anyone found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including removal from Rock Academy.
