Jackson Phelan

Jackson is a Melbourne-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, most notably recognized as the creative force behind the indie rock band RAT!hammock and alt country project planet:pain.

 

He has toured nationally with Spacey Jane, Ball Park Music, Angie McMahon, Yellow Days, Hockey Dad, King Stingray, and has featured on lineups for Laneway, Spilt Milk, and Falls Festival.

 

RAT!hammock’s debut anthology ‘Everything, All At Once, Forever’ was released in 2020, receiving critical acclaim and major radio support, including plays on the BBC and high rotation on Triple J, for songs such as “Word of the Day” and “Ghost. He also has extensive experience playing guitar as a session musician playing with artists such as ctrl + me, Juice Webster and Merpire.

Rock Academy Australia

Rock Academy is a school holiday music initiative for teenagers established in 2015. Currently staged in Melbourne, now broadened to include a Masters initiative for the more mature player twice a year. Rock Academy features established artists mentoring teenage musicians as they rehearse a cover song and write an original song to perform on a real rock stage.
