Maddy Herbert is the founder of Velvet Bloom, a Peninsula based neo-soul, alternative-pop and jazz-rock music project also fronted by Maddy.
Velvet Bloom’s music speaks to the soul with an oozing honey pot of silky vocals, lush soundscapes and raw emotion.
Velvet Bloom’s eclectic sound fuses neo-soul with indie-pop and jazz-rock. In April 2022, the group released their Debut EP, ’Glimmer’ via local independent label, ‘Cousin Will Records’ and toured VIC, NSW, QLD, The ACT and TAS.
After selling out shows in Victoria and New South Wales, in 2022, Velvet Bloom performed on The ABCs Spicks & Specks and at The NGV’s Friday Night Series, then embarked on a national tour with WA indie-rockers, Great Gable.
Independently of Velvet Bloom, Maddy co-runs Fem Jams and was a booker/marketing coordinator for Night Cat, eventually being involved in all of Calibre’s venues including The Espy, Freo.Social, Mojos, The Zoo and Haba.
“Equal parts enthralling and enchanting, Velvet Bloom is undeniably on the cusp of big things in the near future.” – Tyler Jenke, Rolling Stone Magazine
“Blown away with the sheer volume of talent oozing out of this release.” – Jay-Dee Pitcaithly, Moshtix
