Nkechi Anele

Nkechi Anele is a versatile Nigerian-Irish artist based in Naarm (Melbourne).

Known for her soulful performances with Saskwatch, she has toured globally and graced major music festivals.

Beyond music, Nkechi has made significant contributions to Australian culture. She co-founded The Pin, a platform exploring race, identity, and culture, hosted Roots N’ All on triple j radio, and was reelected to serving her second term on the board of directors for Music Victoria.

Her talents extend to the stage, screen, and page, with notable roles in productions like Caroline, or Change and Rare Birds.

In 2024, Nkechi returned to the Naarm music scene with Owelu Dreamhouse, a psychedelic, afro-cinematic soul jazz collective poised to take the festival circuit by storm in 2025.

Rock Academy Australia

Rock Academy is a school holiday music initiative for teenagers established in 2015. Currently staged in Melbourne and on the Mornington Peninsula, Rock Academy features established artists mentoring teenage musicians as they rehearse a cover song and write an original song to perform on a real rock stage.
