Now in our 9th year of rocking Melbourne, Rock Academy brings musical teens together from all over Melbourne, Victoria and beyond and under the mentor of professional musicians they deliver a rollicking live show on a Melbourne Rock Stage in front of over 300 people.
Rock Academy is now on the Mornington Peninsula, uncovering the sounds of the Ninch, following in the footsteps of some of Australia’s greatest artists including Australian Crawl and Tones & I, as well as some of the most exciting bands on the scene such as Teenage Dads and The Grogans.
It’s not only teenagers that thrive on connection and collaboration while playing music in a band. The Masters program is for the mature player who has either started playing recently or would like to return to the stage after a long layoff due to family and career commitments.
Every young band needs somewhere to play and every young music audience should be given the opportunity to see live music in their local area. In conjunction with the City of Port Phillip and Mornington Peninsula Shire, RAWKUS Live is a series of alcohol and smoke free shows in the local communities for under age audiences.

We acknowledge that our events are staged on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung, peoples of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their land and waters, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and emerging.
Rock Academy is a school holiday music initiative for teenagers established in 2015. Currently staged in Melbourne and on the Mornington Peninsula, Rock Academy features established artists mentoring teenage musicians as they rehearse a cover song and write an original song to perform on a real rock stage.
