Thom Swain

Thom Swain is a Melbourne based bassist and guitarist.

Thom works as a session bassist and is involved in a variety of longstanding projects including King River Rising, The Winfield Road Experiment, and Stevie Jean.

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Performance) from Monash University in 2018, Thom has been on interstate tours, recorded and released several full-length albums, and regularly performed at established Melbourne venues and festivals including The Night Cat, The Espy, and Lochhart Music Festival, and the Brunswick Music Festival.

As well as session recording and performing work, Thom takes commissions as a composer and producer. In a band setting, he is known for his improvisational skills and ability to create tasteful and memorable bass parts. Currently, Thom works as an instrumental music teacher at Craigieburn Secondary College and Motown Music School and is passionate about music education.
